How does Invisalign work?

Starting with your initial consultation, the dentists at Smile Design Studio use Invisalign technology to create 3-D view of your teeth. These computer generated images project a virtual treatment plan, showing the number of alignments necessary to straighten your teeth. The Invisalign brace is comprised of a durable medical grade plastic. It is designed to move teeth incrementally through each phase of the teeth realignment treatment.

The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, with each aligner progressively moving your teeth into a more aesthetically pleasing position, until you have a more beautiful smile. The total number of clear aligners is specific to your smile and determined by our dentists.

How long does Invisalign take to correct and straighten my teeth?

Depending on the results of your Invisalign consultation, you will wear a series of aligners for different time spans. Aligners are worn in a series of 10-15 days or until it is time for a new aligner. Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. An Invisalign course of treatment can take anywhere from 2 - 24 months.

Is Invisalign painful?
